New national record: Kofler shines in Rovereto

The 20-year-old from Lana showed a sensational performance at the first outdoor meeting of the season and improved her own record of 3.90 m by an impressive 10 centimeters to 4.00 m. The U23 national jumper from SV Lana won the competition clearly ahead of Giada Pozzato (3.80 m) and Arianna Peroni (3.40). Kofler's teammate Nicole Indra came fifth with 3.10 m.

All-rounder Linda Maria Pircher from Burgstall, who also competes for the SVL, won the long jump with 5.61 m. Petra Nardelli from Eggen won the 150 m sprint in 17.96 seconds. Caren Agreiter from Bruneck prevailed over the unusual distance of 600 m in 1:34.58 minutes ahead of Lara Vorhauser (1:39.12) from ASV Vipiteno and Greta Chizzali (1:40.02) from Laion. The Rabland 2000 m runners Anna Hofer and Marie Gruber also took three third places. The athlete from SC Meran won bronze in both the shot put and discus throw.

Among the men, the flagships of the Athletic Club 96 Bozen in particular achieved top placings. Destiny Nkeonye from Bolzano was at the top of the long jump with a good 7.22 m. Sprinter Lorenzo Ianes won the 150 m in 15.81 seconds, Ebrima Bojang came second over 300 m in 35.50 seconds. U2 talent Jakob Menz from SC Meran was in a class of his own in the discus throw with 18 m. In the U41.57 category, shot putter Francesco Lovato from the Bolzano club CSS Leonardo da Vinci came third with 20 m.

Petra Nardelli shows a top performance in Milan On Saturday, 400 m ace Petra Nardelli was in action at the “Trofeo Atletica Meneghina” in Milan, where she wanted to put in a good performance to qualify for the European Relay Championships on May 1st and 2nd in Poland. The 25-year-old from Eggen showed a strong performance in Lombardy and stopped the time measurement in her flagship discipline at 53.63 seconds. This meant that she missed her record from the previous year by just 35 hundredths of a second. Nardelli only had to admit defeat to top favorite Eleonora Marchiando from Aosta, who was able to hold her own after a strong final sprint in 53.28 seconds. New national record: Kofler shines in Rovereto

The outdoor season opened across Italy at the weekend. Numerous South Tyrolean athletes took part in the opening meeting in Rovereto. The highlight was Nathalie Kofler, who set a new South Tyrolean national record in the pole vault with 4.00 m.
