New M60 world record from Hubert Indra: 8.202 points in the decathlon

The Lanan decathlete set a new M60 world record in the decathlon with 8.202 points in Tuscany. He thus improved the previous record, set in Stendal in 2014 by the German Wolfgang Ritte (8.123), by another 79 points.

The South Tyrolean, born in 1957, once again confirmed his top form. After his operation in October 2016 for a tumor on his tongue, Indra is physically fit again. The flagship of the South Tyrol Team Club, which won the decathlon Italian championship title three times in the 80s, appeared 13 times with the national team and set two Italian records, showed a sensational performance in Arezzo. In addition to the M60 world record, the Lananer also set three Italian records in the high jump (1.66 m), the 100m hurdles (15.60 seconds) and the pole vault (3.80 m).

The Merano heptathlete Ingeborg Zorzi also achieved a top result in Arezzo: In the F70 she set a new Italian record with 5.269 points. The athlete from SC Meran also improved two Italian records in the 80 m hurdles (17.17 seconds) and the javelin throw (18.85 m).
