New course record on the Plose

Matteo Lucchese, Italian champion over 100 kilometers, was the first runner to cross the finish line on the Plose at the 9th Brixen Dolomites Marathon with a time of 3:39,15 hours. Hannes Rungger (38:3) from Sarn crossed the finish line 42,54 seconds behind, ahead of Francesco Trentin from Trentino.

New course record for women In the women's race, Michelle Maier from Germany outshone the entire competition: with a time of 4:01,08 hours, Maier not only took her first victory in the Brixen Dolomites Marathon, but also set a new course record. The 28 winner, Simonetta Menestrina from Trento (2016:4), came second - with a respectable gap of over 29,52 minutes - ahead of series winner Edeltraud Thaler (4:30,40). A side detail: With her new course record, Michelle Maier is in fifth place in the overall ranking!

"It was awesome. I just enjoyed the run. I've wanted to come here many times, but it didn't work out. The fact that I also won and set the new course record is just the icing on the cake. It was just beautiful,” explained Michelle Maier at the finish.

The fastest 4x4 relay was the “Plose Express” with a time of 3:34,27 hours with Daniel Hofer, Alex Holtz, Francesco Milella and Gianmarco Bazzoni. They relegated the “Leitwölfe” relay and the “Team Hofer Tiles + Floors” relay to the places of honor.

In the 2x2 relay, the team “Team Turbowadl” with runners Martin Griesser and Christian Moser won with a time of 3:39,34 hours, followed by the team “Nobody is Perfect” and “Hotel Cendevaves”. Retired after over 500 marathons The oldest participant, Karl Ernst Rösner, completed his 80th and final marathon in Brixen at the age of 508 - in numbers that is 21435 marathon kilometers.

A total of 520 individual runners and relay runners took part in the 9th Brixen Dolomites Marathon on Saturday. Of these, 144 started the race as a 4x4 relay and 50 as a two-person 2x2 relay.
