Nicolò Fusaro vice Italian champion in the pole vault

South Tyrol's athletes are returning from Ancona with a complete set of medals. With a height of 4.95 m, the 21-year-old figurehead from Athletic Club 96 Bozen took an excellent second place behind defending champion Max Mandusic, who was able to hold his own with 5.35 m. Fusaro jumped his height on the first attempt, but then failed at 5.05 m. The man from Bolzano also improved his indoor record by five centimeters. The podium was completed by Jacopo Mussi, who also reached 4.95 m, but only jumped this height on his third attempt.

Like last year, Nathalie Kofler narrowly missed the podium in the U20 pole vault again this year. The Lananese woman, who will celebrate her 10th birthday in 19 days, had to settle for fourth place again in Ancona. Kofler jumped 3.82 m, but then got stuck three times at 3.87 m. The new Italian champion is Monica Aldrighetti, who won with 4.07 m ahead of Laura Pirovano (3.92 m) and Giulia Valletti Borgnini (3.87 m).

Otherwise, from a South Tyrolean perspective, there were no more top placements today. U20 triple jumper Linda Maria Pircher from Burgstall came 10th with 11.89 m, Merano shot putter Marie Gruber had to settle for 20th place in the U17 competition.

Nicolò Fusaro vice Italian champion in the pole vault

After walker Sara Buglisi and long jumper Anna Menz won gold and bronze medals on Saturday, Nicolò Fusaro from Bolzano won the silver medal in the U20 pole vault at the U23 and U23 Italian Indoor Championships in Ancona on Sunday.
