Oberbacher and Pircher dominate the Marinzen run

The 25-year-old Oberbacher from Ortisei, who has been at the top in Marinzen for the last two years and is a successful cross-country skier, took control of the race on the 7,95 kilometer long route (452 meters in altitude) from the start and won in a strong 36.26 minutes. At the finish, the man from Val Gardena was 12 seconds ahead of Daniel Pattis. The Tiers mountain running specialist, who is training regularly again and is thinking about a comeback, finished the run in 36.38 minutes. Merano mountain runner Gerd Frick came third in 37.08 minutes.

In the women's category, Petra Pircher from Lasa won. The runner from Vinschgau ran at an extremely high pace over the entire distance and distanced herself from the entire competition with a time of 44.59 minutes. Second, 1.13 minutes behind, was Birgit Klemm from Val Gardena. Martina Cumerlato from Pievebelvicino completed the podium in 47.39 minutes, while Johanna von Dellemann from Girlan came fourth.

Alex Oberbacher from Val Gardena and Petra Pircher from Lasa won the 27th edition of the Marinzen mountain run in Castelrotto on Sunday. A total of 86 runners took part.
