Palio della Quercia in Rovereto Gone with the Wind

The wind was the big spoilsport at the 52nd edition of the Palio della Quercia in Rovereto. Genzebe Dibaba achieved the only world-class result in the mile race in 4:14.30 minutes. She was only 1.74 seconds behind the world record. Two South Tyroleans were also at the start in Rovereto: the Meran discus thrower Hannes Kirchler came fourth with 58,90 m, while the 400 m hurdler Valentina Cavalleri took 59.80th place in 6 seconds.
