Patscheider and Mayrhofer are state champions in road running

The titles were won by Michaela Patscheider from the running friends Laatsch/Taufers and Martin Mayrhofer from SG Eisacktal. Around 330 participants took part in very good running conditions.

This time, the runs in the adult categories were particularly eagerly awaited. The women ran once around Lake Haidersee, while the men completed the approximately 5.000 meter long circuit twice. From the start there were clear victories in both categories. In the women's race, Michaela Patscheider (LF Laatsch/Taufers) picked up the pace right from the start and ran on and away from the others. After 21:09 minutes and 5.340 meters, the Burgeisen woman reached the finish line in first place. Second place went to her teammate Selina Christandl, around 1 seconds behind, who beat Annemarie Schöpf (also Laatsch/Taufers) in the finish sprint.

In the men's category, after the 1st of 2 rounds, Martin Mayrhofer from SG Eisacktal and Florian Cappello from ASC Laas were jointly at the top. Afterwards, the experienced Mayrhofer clearly separated himself from the promising young cross-country skier. In the end, the man from Villandro won with a time of 37:02 minutes and a lead of around 55 seconds over Cappello. Third place went to Konrad Schwalt from Lauffreunde Laatsch/Taufers.

The team ranking in the first run of the still young VSS/Raiffeisen city and village running season was won by the athletes from ASC Laas ahead of LF Laatsch/Taufers and ASV Schluderns.

The next run of the VSS/Raiffeisen city and village running series will take place on Sunday, June 2nd. Then the only track race of the season is on the program in Mals.

Patscheider and Mayrhofer are state champions in road running

After a three-year break, the Haidersee Run was again part of the VSS/Raiffeisen city and village run series. What's more: the 2019 VSS state champions in road running were crowned in the upper Vinschgau on Saturday.
