Perkmann and Pircher win the second winter running stage

Two weeks after the start of the mountain running season in Vellau, the athletes met in the heart of the Passer town. A five kilometer long circuit had to be completed twice. Hannes Perkmann and Hannes Rungger from Sarnen from the sports team started the race as favorites. Both lived up to their role as favorites, with Perkmann ultimately having the upper hand. The 21-year-old completed the 10km distance in 32:17,11 minutes. Rungger finished 24 seconds behind his teammate. Günther Mair came third, 42 seconds behind the winner. Another Sarner, Alexander Stuffer, took fourth place.

Meanwhile, among the women, Petra Pircher from the Rennerclub Vinschgau was in a class of her own. The woman from Lasa won in 37.26 minutes. Second place went to Elektra Bonvecchio from Trento, 27 seconds behind, and third place went to Doris Weissteiner from SG Eisacktal. Edeltraud Thaler from Lana took 4th place.

Pircher, who also won the promotion race to Vellau, took the overall ranking of the Winter Cup for the women, as she did last year. In the final ranking for men, Hannes Perkmann came out on top. For him it was his first success.
