Pircher achieves a hat trick at the Seiser Alm Half Marathon

The athlete from the Rennerclub Vinschgau, who had already triumphed in the previous two years, lived up to her role as favorite on Sunday and achieved a hat trick. She won with a time of 1:38.32,3 hours and beat all of her competitors by more than seven minutes. Cinzia Martini (ASD Atletica Lupatotina) came second, while Birgit Klemm from the Gherdeina Runners came third. With Manuela Perathoner, another South Tyrolean made it into the top ten. She came tenth.

In the men's race, victory went to the Austrian Simon Lechleitner. He covered the 21,097 kilometer route (601 meters altitude) in 1:22.44,6 hours and was over a minute faster than the German Fabian Alraun in the end. Simone Wegher (Atletica Clarina Trentino) completed the podium. Rudi Brunner from SC Meran was the best South Tyrolean. He finished fourth in the third edition of the Seiser Alm Half Marathon and narrowly missed out on a place on the podium.

This morning, 500 colorfully dressed runners dotted the largest plateau in Europe on the occasion of the Seiser Alm Half Marathon. Five hundred was also the maximum number of runners admitted to the 21-kilometer route, which runs along forest paths and footbridges in the shadow of the Dolomites.

The Seiser Alm Half Marathon was a complete success, crowned by the fact that participants from 11 different nations came to run in the overwhelming mountain landscape of the Dolomites. But Italy was also represented in its entire geographical range: with runners from 49 different provinces, from north to south, from Piedmont to Basilicata, from Apulia to Friuli Venezia Giulia.
