Pircher and Egger win in Hafling - RESULTS

It was a constant up and down for the runners at the VSS/RVD village run in Avelengo. Short, sharp climbs were followed by short downward sections, but they were definitely tough. The 1,25 kilometer long loop also led through a short piece of forest.

Among the women, favorite Petra Pircher from ASC Laas coped best with the conditions. In 9:47,4 minutes, the woman from Laas won ahead of Edeltraud Thaler from Telmekom Team Südtirol (10:19,5 minutes). Annemarie Schöpf (LF Laatsch/Taufers) completed the podium in third place in 10:42,7 minutes.

In the men's category, Simon Egger from the South Tyrolean Running Club took his debut victory among the seniors. In 18:29,7 minutes, Egger, who won the overall ranking in the Youth A category last year, won well ahead of ultra-long-distance specialist Alexander Rabensteiner (SG Eisacktal/18:39,3 minutes). Konrad Schwalt (LF Laatsch/Taufers) secured third place with a total time of 18:51,5 minutes.

A total of 246 runners took part in Hafling. While the children ran distances of 200 to 1.500m, the women and youth categories ran over 3.000m. The men, on the other hand, covered a distance of around 5.000m. In the end, ASC Laas was clearly ahead in the team rankings. Second place went to the Lauffreunde Laatsch/Taufers, third place went to the athletes from the Telmekom Team South Tyrol.

Petra Pircher and Simon Egger are the winners of the VSS/RVD village run in Avelengo. A total of 246 runners tackled the challenging circuit in pleasant temperatures on Tschögglberg. ASC Laas won the team ranking.
