Pircher and Kritzinger win the VSS village run in St. Christina

On Saturday, St. Christina was the venue for a VSS race for the first time in the 38-year history of the series. Among the women, favorite Petra Pircher from the Rennerclub Vinschgau once again coped best with the conditions. The woman from Laas won the fourth race this year as part of the VSS/Raiffeisen village and city running series. Only in Oberwielenbach and Niederdorf did she not appear to be the winner. In 12.34 minutes, Pircher once again gave her competitors in St. Christina no chance. The runner-up, Romana Gafriller from SG Eisacktal, ended up 28 seconds behind the woman from Vinschger. Third place went to Maria Rabensteiner from Freienfeld in 13.17 minutes.

Tobias Anton Kritzinger was unbeatable among the men. On the 5,4 km long route, the SG Eisacktal athlete finished in 17.43 minutes, just ahead of Christian Stuffer (17.50). Alex Holtz from Meran came third with a time of 18.04 minutes.

A total of almost 240 runners took part in St. Christina. In the end, the Gherdeina Runners were ahead in the team rankings. Second place went to the Lauffreunde Laatsch/Taufers, third place went to the athletes from ASC Laas.
