Pircher and Ploner win the VSS village run in Avelengo

Among the women, favorite Petra Pircher from ASC Laas once again coped best with the conditions. The woman from Laas, who was able to prevail last year, won the third race this year as part of the VSS/Raiffeisen village and city running series. Only in Oberwielenbach did she not appear to be the winner. In 14.53 minutes, Pircher once again gave her competitors in Hafling no chance. The runner-up, Maria Rabensteiner from ASV Freienfeld, ended up 25 seconds behind the woman from Vinschger. Third place went to Natalie Andersag from ASC Berg in 15.30 minutes.

Among the men, Markus Ploner from Mittewald could not be beat. In 16.26 minutes, South Tyrol's strongest marathon runner not only crossed the finish line first, but also set a clear new course record. Already more than a minute behind, Tobias Geiser and Gianmarco Bazzoni from Bolzano were in 2nd and 3rd place.

A total of almost 280 runners took part in Hafling. While the children ran distances of 200 to 1.500 m, the women and youth categories ran over 3.000 m. The men, on the other hand, completed a 5.000 m circuit.

In the end, ASC Laas was once again ahead in the team rankings. Second place went to the Lauffreunde Laatsch/Taufers, third place went to the athletes from ASC Berg.
