Pircher narrowly missed out on a medal

In the U23 women's heptathlon, 19-year-old Linda Maria Pircher from Burgstall came in a good fourth place. The flagship of SV Lana achieved an impressive 4.830 points and thus improved her previous record, set at this year's Multistars meeting in Lana, by three points. Pircher improved her records twice, in the 100 m hurdles and over 800 m, but generally showed strong performances in all seven disciplines. The Burgstaller woman was 116 points short of the podium. The new U23 Italian champion is Marta Giovannini from Livorno, who was able to assert herself with 5.504 points, ahead of Teuta Cala (4.972). Chiara Sala came third with 4.946 points. Pircher's teammate at SV Lana, Annika Oberrauch from Eppan, took eighth place in the junior heptathlon. The 18-year-old from Überetscher scored a good 4.342 points, and Oberrauch was also able to celebrate two new records in the 800 m and the shot put. The second South Tyrolean, Chiara Goffi from Val Gardena, had to settle for 3.909th place with 15 points. Nicola Paletti good sixth In the men's U23 decathlon, Nicola Paletti from Bolzano showed a very strong performance. The 20-year-old figurehead from Athletic Club 96 Bozen finished sixth with 6.181 points. The talented South Tyrolean was able to impress in all disciplines. In 10 competitions, Paletti improved his records seven times; he only failed to break his records in the high jump, long jump and the 110 m hurdles.
