Second place for the Athletic Club 96 Bozen in the “Quercia d'Oro”

The 47th edition of the Quercia d'Oro was also the last test before the team regional championships next weekend in Borgo Valsugana. The Bolzano club achieved six podium places in Rovereto. The Talferstädter were at the top of the winner's podium three times, plus one second and two third places. Overall, Athletic Club 96 achieved 60 points. Winner Pro Sesto scored one point more and won the team championship with 61 points. Discus thrower Daniel Compagno showed particularly strong performances with a very good 55,65 m and the 800 m runner Abdessalam Machmach, who won the race in 1:51.83 minutes. The people of Bolzano even celebrated a triple victory over 3000m with Bazzoni, Yalli and Spagnolli. The U20 Marco Spagnolli stayed under the 8-minute mark for the first time in 56.21:9 minutes. In the women's category, Puster junior Caren Agreiter won the 400 m hurdles in a good 1:01.83 minutes, while Petra Nardelli from the Bozen runners club came second in the 400 m in 56.75 seconds. Just two days earlier, the 19-year-old from Eggental had set a new personal best of 56.36 minutes at the Città di Trento meeting. Nardelli is only 20 hundredths short of the FIDAL standard for the U86 European Championships in Eskistuna (55.50).

The Athletic Club 96 Bozen returns from the traditional club meeting Quercia d'Oro in Rovereto with a good second place. The people of Bolzano, with many young up-and-coming athletes in the squad, had to admit defeat to Atletica Pro Sesto by just a single point.
