Reiterer and Thaler win the 21st Soltn mountain half marathon

Andreas Reiterer won the Soltn mountain marathon (21,1 kilometers, 520 meters in altitude), which was organized by the Soltnflitzers of the Jenesien/Raiffeisen amateur sports community, without once giving up the top position. The ASV Telmekom/Asics athlete separated himself from his competitors David Andersag (ASC Berg) and Ludovico Palmieri in the first few kilometers and reached the finish in 1:17.09 hours. “The race went very well. I tried to attack straight away because the first section was the one with the biggest difference in elevation. I thought I had to do a good time on the climb because the others might be stronger than me on the flat. “I also did well on the flat part and it went perfectly,” said last year’s third-place finisher.

In ideal racing weather, Top7 overall leader David Andersag von Kardaun reached the finish line three minutes after Reiterer (1:20.13 hours). On the third step of the podium was Ludovico Palmieri. The latter finished the race in 1:22.16 hours, which led from Jenesien on unpaved paths through the forests and meadows of the Soltn before returning to Jenesien. A surprise victory for Thaler In the women's race, Edeltraud Thaler (ASV Telmekom Team Südtirol) crossed the finish line first. Beaming and incredulous, the athlete from Lana finished the race in 1:37.32 hours. “It was really a surprise, both for me and for everyone else. I never thought I would win. The race went well, the temperatures were ideal for running. I didn't know the route in detail because I haven't competed in this race for many years," said the satisfied athlete at the finish, who was able to repeat her success from 11 years ago. A few minutes later, Gerlinde Baldauf (ASV Rennerclub Vinschgau) reached the finish, being the only other athlete who stayed under the one hour and forty minute mark (1:39.50 hours). Third came Natalie Andersag (ASC Berg, 1:43.52 hours), who, like her brother David, is currently leading the Top7 series. Elena Carraro came fourth, followed by Petra Pircher, who finished her last half marathon with a good performance. The fastest runner in the 10-kilometer run with a 140-meter difference in altitude was Christian Lang, who beat his competitors with a time of 35.12,65:36.32,45 minutes. In the women's race, Lia Patscheider from ASV SG Eisacktal Raiffeisen was the first to reach the finish line at the Jenesien equestrian center in XNUMX:XNUMX hours.

The ten kilometer long route from Soltn to the Jenesien Equestrian Center was also tackled by a large number of amateurs who completed the route purely for fun. “We are pleased that numerous athletes and amateur runners took part in our event.
