Reschenseelauf: It starts in two days

The Reschenseelauf comes of age on Saturday and the organizer, Gerald Burger, is pleased about the announced top athletes who will take on the sporting challenge on the panoramic route together with thousands of like-minded people. In addition to the Bambini apple run, the Nordic walking and handbike -The main focus is on the main run over 15,3 km around Lake Reschen, starting at 17 p.m.

Top runners Third in the Meran-Algund half marathon, winner of the 30th edition of the Innsbruck city run and also in the Boclassic Challenge over 3.000 m. All this just under a year after a nasty injury; Kathrin Hanspeter , born in 1982, is considered one of the top favorites at the 18th edition of the Reschenseelauf. The woman from Sarnen has been at the top of the winner's podium twice (2014 and 2015). The German Simone Raatz , winner in 2013, could give her serious competition on Saturday.

Also the debutante at Lake Reschen, Agnes Tschurtschenthaler (Sexten), winner of the 26km of the premiere of the Stelvio Marathon, is considered to be very strong. On Saturday the battle for the women's podium will be particularly exciting.

Top runner Johannes Hillebrand (Third in 2015 and fourth in 2016) was already looking forward to the 18th edition of the Reschenseelauf shortly after crossing the finish line last year. He also announced that he would prepare specifically for the race, which will certainly make him the top favorite this year.

Auch Hermann Achmüller (Bruneck), the Mr. Reschenseelauf with his six victories on the lake, would like to present himself in the best possible way this year. Achmüller wants to run all the World Major marathons this year and has already started more than successfully. Who will be on the list of favorites will be revealed by Saturday at the latest.
