Rudi Brunner and Petra Pircher win 2nd Venosta Run

The provincial competition featured a small but fine field of participants. A total of 43 athletes took up the challenge and tackled the demanding course over 17,8 km and an altitude difference of 280 m. In the end, Rudi Brunner from Merano and Petra Pircher from Lasa were chosen as the winners of the “2nd. Venosta Run”.

Brunner prevailed among the men with a time of 1:07.40 hours and relegated Prader Maurizio Giusti from the Rennerclub Vinschgau to second place by over seven minutes. Brunner also set a new course record. The 42-year-old from Merano was 1.27 minutes faster than last year's winner Alessio Loner. Horst Pichler from Telmekom Team South Tyrol completed the podium, reaching the finish after 1:15.41 hours.

Petra Pircher had the winning time of 1:17.48 hours in the women's field. The woman from Lasa also set a new best time. Last year, Veronica Chiusole from Trento needed almost four minutes longer than Pircher. Behind the Vinschger native, Edeltraud Thaler from Lana (1:18.39) and her teammate at Telmekom Team Südtirol Verena Pratzner (1:25.11) took second and third place.

Rudi Brunner and Petra Pircher win 2nd Venosta Run

On Saturday, LAC Vinschgau Raiffeisen, in collaboration with ASC Laas and ASV Kastelbell-Tschars, held the “Venosta Run” for the second time. The cycle path took the runners from Kastelbell to Lasa.
