Rungger and Schweigkofler win the Ultner Höfelauf

The focus was on the supreme discipline over 18 kilometers, in which a total of 175 runners took part. The Bolzano defending champion Gianmarco Bazzoni, who was at the top four times in a row from 2016 to 2019, did not take part in the Ultner Höfelauf this time. Hannes Rungger took the win. With a time of 40:1 hours, the 10.02-year-old veteran from Sarn was exactly 44 seconds faster than Luca Clara from Val Gardena. Third place went to the 3-year-old Italo-Russian Mikhail Mamleev, who stopped the time measurement in 46:1 hours.

As in 2019, Andrea Schweigkofler from the Meran Sports Club won the women's competition in 1:25.37 hours. The defending champion retained the upper hand in the finish against Bruneck newcomer Greta Haselrieder. The woman from Pusteria, who won the Seiser Alm half marathon just three weeks ago, was seven seconds behind Schweigkofler at the finish. Anna Zilio from Trentino completed the podium in 1:30.52 hours. The Meran ultra-marathon runner and 2018 winner, Irene Senfter, had to settle for fourth place.

The women's short distance over 8 kilometers was won by Anna Stankiewicz from Poland in 30.04 minutes. In the men's race, Benjamin Eisendle from Wipptal took the day's victory in 26.38 minutes. Rungger and Schweigkofler win the Ultner Höfelauf

Almost 500 runners took part in the 16th edition of the Ultner Höfelauf on Sunday, after a three-year break.
