Silvia Weissteiner leads forest guard to the title with victory

A week ago, Weissteiner had to work hard for her victory due to a bad cold. At the cross country championships in San Giorgio su Legnano, however, she was in a class of her own. With her victory she was primarily responsible for winning the title. In 13:46, Weissteiner beat Claudette Mukasakindi from Rwanda by 7 seconds and Rosario Console by 28 seconds to the honorable places. Tschurtschenthaler finished sixth, 12 seconds behind. Together with Ilaria Di Santo (2006th), the South Tyrolean women secured the title just ahead of the army sports group. For Weissteiner it was the third individual victory at the Italian team championships after 2009 and 3 and the team gold number 2007 (2009 with SV Vipiteno, 2010 with the Forstwache). Agnes Tschurtschenthaler also won the gold medal with the forest guard in 29. Today was Weissteiner's first cross-country race since November 2009, XNUMX, when she was injured in Condino and was subsequently out for more than a year.
