Relay mountain running: Merano is the measure of all things

Coach Hans Ladurner's athletes dominated their age groups. In the U16 category, the Merano relay team came out on top with 108 points, clearly ahead of Atletica Valle Brembana (66) and Saluzzo (52). Although Elisa Pastorelli from Lecco won the race in 15.46 minutes, four Merano women, Martina Falchetti, Veronika Hölzl, Emma Garber and Sara Frick, took places 2 to 5.

The matter was even clearer in the U18s, where Meran won with an impressive 116 points. Second place, already 2 points behind, went to the Atletica Lecco runners, while Valchiese (64) completed the podium. Lisa Kerschbaumer from Tramin was able to hold her own on the 48 m long route in 2.250 minutes, one second ahead of Noemi Bogiatto from Saluzzo. Matilde Bagnus secured third place (10.19). The other three Merano women, Maddalena Melle (10.26th), Emily Vucemillo (5th) and Nike Frick (7th), also made it into the top 10.
