Start of the athletics season in Brixen

On Saturday the “big ones” were in action in Brixen. Petra Nardelli from Eggen won the 100 m sprint with a new personal best of 12.06 seconds, and 100 m hurdler Isabel Eccli also showed a strong performance. The flagship of SG Eisacktal won in 14.80 seconds. Also at the top of the winner's podium was 1500 m runner Lara Vorhauser (5:01.82) from ASV Vipiteno. Linda Palumbo from Trentino, who competes for the South Tyrol Team Club, was in a class of her own over the 3000 obstacle in 10:30.94 minutes. Her teammate, Katja Pattis from Tiers, also achieved a top time in second place in 10:45.16 minutes and thus also beat the standard for the U20 European Championships in Tallinn. There are also top performances in the relay and high jump The Vinschger high jumper Lorena Lingg crossed 1.62 m, Marie Gruber from SC Meran came second in the shot put with 2 m. The women of the South Tyrol Team Club (Isabel Eccli, Milla Möseneder, Sarah Fiwickeler, Federica Cavalli) confidently won the 11.40x4 m relay competition 100 seconds. There were also some top results among the men. Samuel Demetz from Val Gardena was unbeatable over 1500 m (4:01.55), Alberto Masera from Bolzano dominated the high jump with 1.94 m. There were also victories for 110 m hurdler Riccardo Vantini (16.53/CSS Leonardo da Vinci) and the Merano javelin thrower Hubert Göller (57.66 m). The U18 talents Mattia Cruciotti (110 hurdles, 15.42) and Jakob Göller (javelin, 50.29 m) also impressed in Brixen. Destiny Nkeonye from the Bolzano club Athletic Club 96 shone in the 100 m sprint with a time of 10.94 seconds.

The U14 athletics season officially opened in Brixen at the weekend. A meeting for the general class also took place in the “Raiffeisen Arena”.
