South Tyrolean athletes impress again

Most of the local athletes were registered at the indoor meeting in Padua, where four South Tyrolean women stayed under 1500 minutes over 5 m. Lisa Kerschbaumer presented herself particularly well. The 17-year-old from Tramin, who is starting in the U20 class for the first time this year, improved her best time by three seconds to 4:40,40 minutes. Her teammates at the Meran Sports Club, Emily Vucemillo (4:55,28) and Anna Hofer (4:56,27), also did well. U18 ace Greta Chizzali from SG Eisacktal was also convincing, stopping the time measurement at 4:55,12 minutes. In the U18 boys' race, Euan De Nigro and Lukas Lanzinger, also both from SG Eisacktal, ran the 1500 m in a good time of 4:08,66 and 4:08,75 minutes respectively. The men from the Bolzano club Athletic Club 96 also made people sit up and take notice in Padua. The 19-year-old long jumper Destiny Nkeonye reached 6.65 m in his season debut, the Bolzano pole vaulter Nicolò Fusaro increased his season's best mark by 10 centimeters to 4.70 m. The 17-year-old triple jumper Tobias Iellici was also happy with 13.59 m. Anna Di Giovanni from Laives, who also starts for the Bolzano club, was in action in Modena. There the 17-year-old high jumper reached 1.64 m. Menz and Burger impress in Ancona Two other top South Tyrolean athletes, Anna Menz and Marie Burger, were registered in Ancona. The 21-year-old Marlingen long jumper Menz increased her previous season's best performance by 10 cm to 5.83 m. Last week Menz, who competes for Marathon Florence, also achieved 5.73 m in Ancona. Marie Burger was also able to record an increase. The 17-year-old from Vahrn from SSV Brixen ran the 60m hurdles in a good 8.92 seconds. Last week she ran 8.93 seconds in Modena. Her teammate Ilena Reifer clocked 9.90 seconds.
