South Tyrolean athletes impress in Haslach

Well-known faces such as Gianmarco Bazzoni from Bolzano, Kathrin Hanspeter from Sarnen and Petra Pircher from Lasa also took part in fantastic weather. Bazzoni clearly prevailed over 5000 meters in 15.43 minutes ahead of Trent's Michele Vaia (15.59) and Giulio Imberciadori. However, the 15.19-year-old from Bolzano couldn't come close to his personal best (2014) from 26.

Kathrin Hanspeter secured the women's 3000 m run. The woman from Sarnen, who recently celebrated her comeback after an 18-month injury break, won in 10.39 minutes, eight seconds ahead of Petra Pircher from Lasa. Karin Innerebner came third in 11.10.

Personal best for Isabel Vikoler In Haslach, Isabel Vikoler from Brixen also had reason to celebrate. The 17-year-old from SG Eisacktal won the 400 m in 58.47 seconds and improved her personal best by almost a second. Last year in Cles she ran 59.46 seconds.

The 1st BO classic spring meeting took place in Haslach on Saturday. At the event, which was organized by the Bozen Running Club, some local athletes made people sit up and take notice.
