South Tyrolean cross-country runners dominate in Trentino

Garber, Hölzl and Frick made it in the U20 women's class. Tierser Katja Pattis from the South Tyrol Team Club prevailed in 16.33 minutes ahead of the two Merano women Emma Garber and Veronika Hölzl, who stopped the time measurement in 17.05 and 17.37 minutes respectively. Sixth-placed Sara Frick, who also starts for the club from the Passer city, also qualified for the Italian championship, which will be held in Campo Bisenzio in Tuscany in mid-March. In two weeks, however, the second qualifying phase and also the regional championship for the U2, U18 and general class will take place in Levico.

There were also two South Tyrolean podium places each in the U18 women's and men's competitions. In the girls' category, Emily Vucemillo from Meran won ahead of her teammate Nike Frick. In the boys' race, Samuel Demetz from Val Gardena and Paolo Rossi from AS Merano took second and third place behind Simone Valduga from Trento. In the U2 race, however, Anna Hofer (SC Meran) took victory, while Ivan Domenici from Bolzano came in a good second place among the boys of the same age. U3 runner Katharina Feichter, also from the Meran Sports Club, also won silver.

There were also top rankings for South Tyrol in the Masters rankings. Elisabeth Moser from Sarnen and Rosanna Barbi Lanziner from Truden won the F55 and F60 races respectively, while Martin Mairhofer from SG Eisacktal was at the top of the men's race in the over 45 race.

South Tyrolean cross-country runners dominate in Trentino

The 32nd edition of the “Cross del Crus” took place in Villa Lagarina at the weekend. Some South Tyrolean athletes have already been able to get their ticket for the Italian Cross Country Championships.
