South Tyroleans shine in Rovereto

Lisa Leuprecht could not be kept in the ranks of the Merano sports club. The daughter of the former top middle-distance runner Christian timed the 5000 m in 18:00.98 minutes and thus set a new U18 national record. The previous best time was 18:14.68 minutes, set by Elke Innerebner in Trento in 1992. The 15-year-old Leuprecht came in third place, behind the animal rider Katja Pattis (3:17) and winner Ilaria Bruno (43.03:17). Petra Nardelli also showed a strong performance. The 25-year-old from Eggen, who secured her Olympic ticket for the 4x400 m with the Italian national team at the World Relay Championships in Chorzow last week, clocked a good 200 seconds in the 24.33 m sprint. Ira Harrasser from Bruneck (24.98) also stayed under 25 seconds. Isabel Vikoler from SG Eisacktal won the 400 m hurdles in 1:03.33 minutes, her teammate Angela Kier from Lüsen came third in the long jump with 5.58 m. The Signater javelin thrower Sarah Fiwickeler won with 39.39 m, Chiara Goffi from Val Gardena came with 38.25 m to third place. Discus thrower Marie Gruber from SC Meran also took third place with 3 m. The 36.82x4 m women's relay team from the South Tyrol Team Club (Maddalena Melle, Milla Möseneder, Agata D'Angelo, Federica Cavalli) came second in 400:3 minutes. Destiny Nkeonye made people sit up and take notice among the men. The 19-year-old from Bolzano won the long jump with a strong 7.18 m. His teammate at Athletic Club 96 Bozen, Alberto Murari, won the high jump with 2.03 m. There were two second places for Ebrima Bojang (200 m) and Omar Lucchesini (pole). Riccardo Vantini from the Bolzano club CSS Leonardo da Vinci came second in the 400 m hurdles in 56.11 seconds. Samuel Demetz from Val Gardena took third place in the 5000 m (16:27.48), the same as the Athletic Club 3 Bozen's 4x400 m men's relay team. South Tyroleans shine in Rovereto

The “Meeting delle Rose” took place in Rovereto on Sunday. Among the numerous participants there were also some South Tyrolean athletes who were able to put themselves in the spotlight.
