South Tyroleans are prepared for title fights

The 19-year-old pole vaulter from Lana celebrated her season debut at the Tyrolean Championships in the WUB Hall. Kofler, who studies sports in Innsbruck, impressed at the start with 3.80 m. She then failed three times to break her own national record of 3.90 m. At the Italian Championships this weekend in Ancona, Kofler will be competing in the U23 category this year.

Several South Tyrolean athletes took part in Padua. The Bruneck sprinter Ira Harrasser ran the 60 m in 7.90 seconds. Her teammate Jonathan Augschöll stopped the time measurement in the men's competition at 7.51 seconds, Luca Boesso crossed the finish line in the 60 m hurdles in 8.75 seconds. The Burgstall all-rounder Linda Pircher from SV Lana, who is competing in the U23 class this year, managed 5.54 m in the long jump. Diana Caravaggi Esposito from SG Eisacktal ran the 400 m in 1:03.17 minutes. Marie Burger (U18) from Vahrn won the 60 m hurdles in 8.88 seconds, her teammate at SSV Brixen, Ilena Reifer, came in 9.90 seconds. U23 high jumper Alberto Masera (SV Lana) from Bozen jumped 1.97 m. Alberto Murari from Athletic Club 96 Bozen took the win with 2.00 m. 800 m runner Katharina Unterberger (SSV Bruneck) came with a time of 2:30.56 minutes to the target. Farias Zin (Athletic Club) ran the 60 m in 6.81 seconds.

Destiny Nkeonye, on the other hand, made people sit up and take notice in Saronno. The U23 long jumper from Athletic Club 96 Bozen achieved an impressive 7.28 m. For Pierluigi Putzu's protégé it was a new indoor record, the second best ever after the 7.35 m at the Junior Italian Championships last year, where he won silver.

The athletes from the Bolzano club were also in good form in Udine. Long jumper Anna Di Giovanni from Laives reached 1.65 m, Tobias Ielicci increased his previous triple jump record by 5 cm to 13.64 m. Bolzano pole vaulter Nicolò Fusaro crossed 4.60 m.

The indoor meetings in Padua and Saronno were entirely in line with the upcoming U20 and U23 Italian Indoor Championships at the weekend in Ancona. In Innsbruck, however, Nathalie Kofler shone.
