South Tyroleans impress in Oberplanitzing

The focus of the cross-country race in Überetsch was the U18 and U16 competitions. Lisa Leuprecht won the girls’ U18 race. The Lanan from SC Meran won on the 2,6 km long route in 8.16 minutes, ahead of her two teammates Anna Hofer (8.35) and Emily Vucemillo (8.52). Victory also went to the Passerstadt in the U16 category. Sofia Demetz from Val Gardena put Emma Ghirardello Pichler, also from SC Meran, in her place. Among the boys, another athlete from SC Meran, David Agethle, was at the top. He kept the upper hand ahead of Lukas Felderer (Sarntal) and Simon Olivetto (SLV). The boys’ U14 title went to Peter Thaler. The athlete from ASV Deutschnofen completed the 1,35 km run in 4.57 minutes and was 13 and 22 seconds faster than his teammates Benjamin Untermarzoner and Benedikt Larcher. Emma Schwitzer won among the girls. The woman from Sarnen was able to hold her own in front of the two Merano women Lilian Marie Andres and Eva Schrott. Many young talents from the U8-10-12 age groups also took part in Oberplanitzing. Matthäus Schwitzer (LF Sarntal), Lukas Fill, Nika Kerschbaumer, Lena Hofer (all three from LG Schlern) as well as Francesco Civita (SC Meran) and Marta Moretti (SAB) secured their age categories. On Saturday, after more than two years of Corona break, a youth cross-country race took place again in Oberplanitzing. Almost 90 athletes from the U8 to U18 age groups took part.
