South Tyroleans impress in Padua and Rovereto

At the indoor meeting in Padua, 400 m hurdles ace Valentina Cavalleri from San Candido impressed with a good time of 56.50 seconds. The Pusterian from the army sports group came in 8th place, the victory went to her training colleague Anna Polinari (53.81). The Bolzano pole vaulter Nicolò Fusaro came second with 4.85 m behind Matteo Miani (5.15 m). His teammate at Athletic Club 96, the 16-year-old Mattia Bucciarelli, crossed 3.80 m. The four talents from the Bolzano club CSS Leonardo da Vinci, Luca Tenaglia, Mattia Pivetta, Riccardo Vantini and Elias Vonella, won the 4x200 m relay with 1:35.10 minutes. Abdessalam Machmach came third in the 800 m run in 1:50.51 minutes. In the 60 m race, the Eisacktal women Sofia Barberio, Isabel Vikoler and Hannah Fiwickeler were able to impress with 8.21, 8.27 and 8.62 seconds. Sofia Demetz wins in Rovereto The international Vallagarina cross-country race took place in Rovereto. From a South Tyrolean perspective, the youth races were once again the focus. In the U18 category, Sofia Demetz from SC Meran from Val Gardena took victory on the 4 km course in 13.49 minutes, while Vanessa Russo (Running Meran/14.48) came fourth. In the boys' race, which was won by Francesco Ropelato from Trentino, David Agethle from Meran also came fourth. Sofia Sambin, also from SC Meran, took 6th place in the U16 category, her teammates Lilian Marie Andres and Eva Schrott (both U14) came 2nd and 4th. In the men's race in the general class, Michael Hofer from Deutschnofen (30.02 ) good 19th place, the victory went to Bikila Takele (27.08) from Ethiopia. SCM athlete Robert Brunner won the M45 race.
