Thaler and Rungger win the first uphill run to Jenesien

The race, which was organized by the Soltnflitzer section of ASV Jenesien, took the runners from the valley station of the Jenesien cable car in Bolzano to the village square in Jenesien. The athletes had to cover a distance of around four kilometers with an altitude difference of 785 meters. In the men's category, Noe Thaler narrowly beat Daniel Jung. The runner from Team Alpen Speed Sarntal won in 30:28.57 minutes and was just over three and a half seconds faster than second-placed Jung (Gore Running Wear). Thaler's teammate Thomas Holzer completed the podium. He finished 17 seconds behind. In the women's category there was a prominent winner, Renate Rungger. The 36-year-old from Sarnen from the sports team triumphed in her racing comeback with a time of 35:08.53 minutes, leaving Annelise Felderer (ASC Lauffreunde Sarntal) behind her by just over two seconds. In total, only 22 men were faster than the top two in the women's category. The third fastest lady was Anna Pircher from the Rennerclub Vinschgau. She finished the race in 37:01.29 minutes.

The first edition of the uphill run with poles from Bolzano to San Genesio took place on Friday evening. Noe Thaler and Renate Rungger were unbeatable.
