Thomas Schiffregger 5th at the U20 all-around Italian championship

In his only indoor heptathlon to date, Thomas Schiffregger scored 4672 points last year. He broke his previous record this weekend, where he even achieved 4833 points. Nevertheless, he was almost 100 points short of a medal. The 18-year-old had to settle for fifth place behind Matteo Chiusolo (5301), Marco Leone (5184), Lorenzo Gentili (5158) and Lorenzo Naidon (4936). The talented Puster native particularly shone in Padua in the 60 m run with 7.17 seconds as well as in the 60 m hurdles with 8.59 seconds and in his flagship discipline, the long jump, with 6.85 m. Schiffregger, who is coached by Ruth Mayr, also impressed in the 1000 m (2.55.08), but lost important points in the high jump (1,77 m) and pole vault (3.60 m).

Anna Menz was also at the start in Padua. She took part in the pentathlon in the U18 age category. The 17-year-old from Marlingen from SC Meran took 3063th place with 15 points. She recorded her best results in the long jump (5,32 m) and the 60 m hurdles (9.44 seconds). The winner was Rebecca Menchini from Piedmont with 3478 points, 110 points ahead of second place Veronica Zanon (3368) and Carlotta De Marco (3359).
