Top7 series opens in Kaltern for the first time

In recent days, people across much of Europe have had a taste of the coming spring. The temperatures have climbed into the double-digit plus range - which of course makes you want to exercise outdoors. Many runners also do their first laps in nature. However, it will still take around a month until the 21 Top7 running series starts just in time for the “official” start of spring on Sunday, March 2021st with the Under Armor Kalterer See Half Marathon. Normally the first Top7 race takes place on the last day of the year. But the BOclassic Ladurner fun run had to be postponed on December 31, 2020 for known reasons. And so it is now up to the organizers of the Under Armor Kalterer See Half Marathon to launch the running series, which is extremely popular with amateur athletes and will take place for the 15th time this year. Preparations in Überetsch have been in full swing for weeks. OC boss Patrick Olivetto and his team are confident that the event around South Tyrol's largest bathing lake will take place as planned. The Top7 running series will continue with two races in May. The Meran-Algund Half Marathon is scheduled for Sunday, May 2nd. For the 27th time, OK President Martin Sanin welcomes runners who will complete the 21,095 kilometers in the Passerstadt. Three weeks later - on Saturday, May 22nd - the BOclassic Ladurner fun run will be rescheduled. This time the participants will not have to walk across Waltherplatz and through the arcades on the afternoon of New Year's Eve. You explore the heart of Bolzano over a 5-kilometer route in late spring - and as part of a night run, which is another special feature. From the west to the east Two more classics from the Top7 running series are on the program in midsummer. The Reschenseelauf will take place on Saturday, July 17th. It is South Tyrol's largest running event, which was also held last summer - despite the pandemic - with a sophisticated concept in compliance with all necessary safety measures and thus became a model for many other running events in the Alpine region. The route to be covered is 15,3 kilometers and is very flat with only 90 meters of elevation. At the end of the summer we head to the Pustertal, where the South Tyrolean Erdäpfllauf will take place on Saturday, August 28th. The route from Bruneck to Sand in Taufers is 17,6 kilometers long and only has an altitude difference of 60 meters. All participants in the Top7 running series can look forward to two more traditional events in the fall. First, the Soltn mountain half marathon will be held on the Tschögglberg, which will take place on Sunday, September 26th. This event is celebrating a milestone anniversary this year as it is being held for the 20th time. The Top7 series will once again be concluded with the Agefactor Run, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 23rd. In this 10 km road race, each participant's finishing time is multiplied by a factor corresponding to their age - the age factor. This means that it can happen that it is not the fastest person of the day who wins, but another participant. Top7 series opens in Kaltern for the first time

The local amateur athletes have to be patient for another three and a half weeks before the first big running event of the year takes place on Lake Kaltern. It is the start of this year's Top7 series.
