U16 Italian Championship: All results at a glance

In the women's team ranking, the South Tyrolean selection took 169th place overall with 13 points; the title went to Veneto with 306 points, ahead of Lombardy (297) and Lazio (276). The boys, however, didn't get past 17th place. A total of almost 900 athletes from 21 regions took part. In Emilia Romagna, only a few local athletes were able to convince. Daniele Tomasi ensured the South Tyrolean top performance. The figurehead of the Bolzano club CSS Leonardo da Vinci was South Tyrol's great hope for a medal in Parma. Tomasi took a strong third place in the boys' six-fight with 4.285 points, behind neo-Italian champion Alessandro Sturman (4.388) from Friuli and Francesco Patumi (4.375) from Umbria. It was Tomasi's first medal at an Italian championship, and he also improved his previous record by an impressive 178 points. A South Tyrolean also made it into the top 10 in the girls' pentathlon. Alexa Schneider from SSV Bruneck came ninth with a new personal best of 3.520 points. Her teammate Julia Moser timed the 300 m hurdles in 48.36 seconds, which was enough for 10th place in the end. The Passeir javelin thrower Christoph Öttl also came in 41.33th with 10 m (also a new record). A total of nine medals at the Italian Youth Championships With Tomasi winning a medal at the U16 Italian Championships in Parma, the track season for track and field athletes, which was once again very successful for South Tyrol, ends. In total, the local young athletes won nine medals in the U16, U18, U20 and U23 age groups. At the U20 and U23 Italian Championships in Grosseto, four local athletes won the Italian championship title: the Lanan pole vaulter Nathalie Kofler, the Tiers 3000 m steeplechase Katja Pattis, the Merano walker Sara Buglisi and the Bolzano pole vaulter Nicolò Fusaro. There were also two third places from Bolzano high jumper Alberto Masera and Marlingen long jumper Anna Menz. Samuel Demetz from Val Gardena was also named Italian runner-up in the 3000 m.
