Surprise victories on the Seiser Alm

The athletes had to complete 21 kilometers and 601 meters of altitude on Sunday morning. In the end, two athletes crossed the finish line fastest, and not many had them on the list. In the men's category, Massimo Farcoz from Aosta, who only spontaneously decided to take part, triumphed. “I'm here to take a few days vacation. When I saw the beautiful panorama, I thought to myself: I have to take part. “I never expected to win,” said Farcoz, who beat South Tyrolean Markus Ploner by just over a minute. Last year's winner Khalid Jbari ended up in third place, while the big favorite Gianmarco Bazzoni finished the race in fourth place.

There was also a surprise winner among the women: the German Tinka Uphoff ran away from everyone and triumphed at the finish. The favorite Petra Pircher from South Tyrol, who has already won this race three times, came in second, while Marion Huber received the bronze medal. Men 1.
