Valentina Cavalleri is the Italian relay champion

Valentina Cavalleri provided the highlight. The 25-year-old from Innicher ran the relay with the army sports group in Ancona. The Puster woman won with Alice Mangione, Marta Milani and Raphaela Lukudo over 4x2 laps in 3:38.42 minutes, 13 hundredths of a second ahead of the Milan club Pro Patria and just under six seconds ahead of Atletica Brescia. For Cavalleri it was the third Tricolor, after she had already been crowned Italian champion in this competition in the past two seasons.

From a South Tyrolean perspective, the Athletic Club 96 Bozen particularly came up trumps in the title fights in Ancona and won five medals. Antonino Trio was crowned Italian champion in the long jump. The 27-year-old from Milazzo, who has been competing for Bruno Telchini's club since 2019, clearly won with 7.94 m ahead of Mohamed Chaboun (7.62) and Andrea Pianti (7.54). Destiny Nkeonye from Bolzano had to settle for 7.16th place with 10 m. Leonardo Dei Tos from Vittorio Veneto became Italian runner-up in the 5000 m walking in 19:41.18 minutes. 60m sprinter Luca Lai and 400m ace Brayan Lopez each won the bronze medal in their disciplines. The Talferstadt team also won silver in the 4x400 m relay with Isalbet Juarez, Abdessalam Machmach, Destiny Nkeonye and Brayan Lopez in 3:17.70 minutes. Linda Maria Pircher from SV Lana also took center stage. The Burgstall woman narrowly missed the podium and had to settle for fourth place in the pentathlon with 3.629 points. Chiara Sala was only 106 points short of bronze. Pircher improved her own record from the previous year by an impressive 167 points, particularly in the 60 m hurdles (9.51 seconds) and in the high jump (1.68 m).

Petra Nardelli, however, was unable to have a say in the medal awarding. The 24-year-old from Eggen took eighth place in her top discipline over 400 m and 60th over 19 m. Pole vaulter Nicolò Fusaro and long jumper Anna Menz also made it into the top ten. The 21-year-old Fusaro from Bozen came ninth with 4.90 m, Menz from Marlingen came in 5.87th with 8 m.
