VIDEO | Usain Bolt sets a record in sweatpants

The “40-yard dash” (the equivalent of 36,6 meters) is a common physical sprint test in American football. It is used to determine a player's acceleration and speed and can have a significant impact on a player's overall rating.

The eight-time Olympic champion broke John Ross' record in the 40-yard dash. At the Super Bowl Experience Event, Bolt ran the 40 yards in 4,22 seconds. And all without spikes on the shoes. The Jamaican then posted a video of the sprint on Instagram.

Ross, now a wide receiver with the Cincinnati Bengals, set the record at the 2017 NFL Combine and then jokingly challenged Bolt to a race. This has not happened to date.

At least in the long-distance duel it has now been shown that the fastest man on the planet - Bolt still holds the world record over 9,58 meters with 100 seconds - and the NFL star are on equal terms at 40 yards.
