Lots of news at the Maddalene Sky Marathon

Preparations for one of the region's most beautiful mountain races, the Maddalene Sky Marathon, have been in full swing for months. The well-rehearsed organizational team around President Sandro Martinelli and his deputy Hubert Ungerer is working feverishly to make the seventh edition of the mountain run, which is part of the Sky Runner Series Italy, an unforgettable mountain experience.

The organizers are sticking to the tried and tested when it comes to the original route. It takes the participants from Our Lady in the Forest (1351 meters) along hiking trail number 133 to the Binagia Alm, then on to Monte Pin, down to the Stablei Alm and finally to the finish in Rumo (1000 meters). In total, the mountain runners cover 44,5 kilometers, with an altitude difference of 2905 meters. What's new this year is that there will be a combined ranking for all participants in the Maddalene Sky Marathon, as well as the finishers of this year's South Tyrol Ultra Skyrace short. The fastest and fastest participant or the team with the strongest representation will receive a non-cash prize. In addition, seven prizes will be raffled off among all starters in both races.

25 kilometers, 1500 meters altitude: The Maddalene Mountain Race Another novelty is the Maddalene Mountain Race. The route is slightly shorter at 25 kilometers and the difference in altitude is 1500 meters. Here, too, after the start in Our Lady in the Forest, we follow hiking trail number 133 to the Kessel Alm. The route then leads along the Proveis adventure trail to the Fresna Joch and from there to the destination in Rumo.

Registrations on the website www.maddaleneskymarathon.it are possible until August 28th. Anyone who registers by July 31st will pay 38 euros for the Maddalene Sky Marathon and 33 euros for the Maddalene Mountain Race. After that, registration costs 48 or 43 euros. All participants will receive a great starter package with a technical Raidlight shirt. The winners will receive prize money of 800 euros. The race is also counted as the Italian Championship in the Sky Marathon in the master category (born 1975 and older), as well as the regional championship in the Sky Marathon.
