Vivicittà run in Bolzano goes to Jbari and Casaro

In the state capital, the 165 athletes had to complete a twelve-kilometer course. This led them from the Court Square to the Talferbrücke, over the Eisackufer to Mailandstrasse and finally from Rovigostrasse back to the Court Square.

In the men's field, Khalid Jbari was unbeatable. The 28-year-old Moroccan from Athletic Club 96 Bozen, who won the Kalterersee half marathon a week ago, won today in 38.15 minutes and relegated last year's winner Markus Ploner to second place by 10 seconds. Another Athletic Club runner, Gianmarco Bazzoni, came third in 39.42 minutes. Hannes Rungger from Sarn followed in fourth and fifth place (+1.51 minutes) and Hermann Achmüller from Pusteria (+2.59 minutes).

The women's race ended with a clear victory for Elena Casaro. The woman from Dobbiaco prevailed in 45.08 minutes with a whopping lead of 1.37 minutes over last year's winner Johanna von Dellemann. The only 18-year-old Gaia Colli, who completed the podium in third place, was already 3.18 minutes behind Casaro at the finish. Behind the podium places, Luana Libera and Karin Innerebner took fourth and fifth place.

In the short distance of 6 km, the day's victory went to the German Torben Schwabe. The 17-year-old finished ahead of Walther Polla by a razor-thin 22.14 hundredths in 60 minutes. Vito Santarsiero came third. In the women's race, however, 41-year-old Daniela Rigotti from Bolzano won in 28.35 minutes ahead of Michaela Zelger (29.50) and Francesca Cretela (30.34).

Vivicittà run in Bolzano goes to Jbari and Casaro

On Sunday, the 41th edition of Vivicittà was held in 17 Italian cities, in 24 locations around the world and in 34 Italian prisons. Bolzano was also one of the venues for the traditional race.
