VSS village run: Pircher and Premstaller cannot be stopped in Villnöss

Even though some of the strongest runners were missing due to the summer holidays, ASV Villnöss presented itself as an excellent organizer in very warm temperatures and bright sunshine.

Petra Pircher was unbeatable among the women who completed a distance of 3.000 meters. The woman from Lasa, who has not yet won a VSS village run this year, dominated the race in St. Peter and won with 8.33 minutes. Kardauner Natalie Andersag, who competed for ASC Berg, came in second place, 16 seconds behind. Manuela Reichegger from ASV Jenesien completed the podium in 9.13 minutes.

For men, the title went to the Sarntal. Georg Premstaller won the 5.000 m in 20.14 minutes. At the finish he was over half a minute ahead of veteran Matthias Agethle (20.50). Luis Schenk from Val Gardena took third place in 21.19 minutes.

Victory in the club rankings went to the hosts ASV Villnöss with a total of 1.666 points. Villnöss came out on top just ahead of ASC Laas (1.523), while Lauffreunde Sarntal secured third place with 1.289 points. The next run of the VSS city and village running series will take place on July 28th in Vipiteno.
