Wedel and Pircher win the 2nd marble quarry run in Laas

The 90 runners had to complete a 7,5 km long route with a 700 m difference in altitude. The challenge: The last part of the route led through a tunnel with 365 stairs to the finish. Konstantin Wedel was at the top among the men. The 25-year-old German is a 3000 m steeplechase runner and has already made a name for himself in South Tyrol in recent years. He won the Schenna - Taser mountain run twice, and on New Year's Eve 2017 he secured the BoClassic fun run. Wedel won confidently in Laas today in 41.40 minutes and at the finish was already over two minutes ahead of second-placed Gerd Frick from Merano, who stopped the time measurement in 43.49 minutes. Third place went to the Italian Ludovico Palmieri in 3 minutes.

The matter was even clearer for the women. Top favorite and host Petra Pircher, who had already held her own last year, won in 51.15 minutes. In fact, only seven runners were faster than the woman from Lasa. Behind Pircher, the young Sara Frick from Merano took second place in 56.03 minutes. Edeltraud Thaler completed the podium in 56.14 minutes.
