Weissteiner finishes his first marathon with a new national record: 2:32.35

Silvia Weissteiner won the 29th edition of the Turin Marathon on Sunday in 2:32.35 hours and set a new national record in the process. The 36-year-old from Gasteig, the best South Tyrolean long-distance runner of all time, overtook her teammate Fatna Maraoui in the last kilometers of her debut over 42 km, who came second in 2:33.15. Abera Tarikua Fiseha from Ethiopia took third place (2:51.01).
