Silvia Weissteiner flew to Istanbul yesterday via Innsbruck and Vienna. World record holder Meseret Defar is aiming for her fifth World Championship title in a row. 10 of the 21 starters are of African origin and 15 have already run faster than Weissteiner this year. “For me, reaching the final would be like a victory,” said Weissteiner.
