Numerous top runners at the 14th Soltn Half Marathon

The Soltn mountain half marathon is the only half marathon in South Tyrol completely away from traffic noise. The event on the Salten organized by ASV Jenesien Soltnflitzer stands for pure running enjoyment. This has also reached the exceptional talents. This year, too, numerous exceptional South Tyrolean races have been announced, including Hannes Rungger, Mikhail Mamlejew, Gerd Frick, Petra Pircher and Edeltraud Thaler. One can be particularly excited about the performance of Rungger, who has had to give way to Gabriele Abate twice in a row since his victory in 2011. The organizers expect a total of just under 350 participants.

The starting shot at the Jenesien sports field is on Sunday at 10 a.m. The athletes then head to the Salten. The course leads back to Jenesien via the larch meadows, Langfenn and the Gschnof stables. The classic half marathon is 21,1 km long and covers a total of 520 meters in altitude.

The organizers also have something new in store this year: the so-called “Just for Fun” run over 12 km will be held for the first time especially for amateur runners. On top of that, there is the usual competition for two-man relays.
