Numerous top runners at the Drei Zinnen Alpine Run

Hannes Perkmann has already successfully completed the Südtirol Drei Zinnen Alpine Run twice. In 2015 he took an excellent third place on his debut, and a year later the 25-year-old from Sarner even came second. At that time he only had to admit defeat to the former mountain running world champion Petro Mamu from Eritrea. Everyone is now waiting anxiously to see whether the top South Tyrolean mountain runner will achieve the big feat this time. What is certain is that Perkmann will have two very strong competitors in the Pole Andrzej Dlugosz and Luca Cagnati from Belluno who will challenge him until the end.

When it comes to women, Elena Casaro from Dobbiaco wants to know again. The 48-year-old pharmacist is a regular guest at the South Tyrol Drei Zinnen Alpine Run – and a very successful one at that. The signs are identical compared to Perkmann when it comes to the placement in the last two appearances at the classic in the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site: Elena Casaro came third in 2015 and second a year later. The Swiss Victoria Kreuzer, who already knows this feeling, wants to prevent Casaro's first victory in the South Tyrol Drei Zinnen Alpine Run. The top runner from Fiesch in the canton of Valais shined from the highest podium in 2014.

“Everything points to good conditions” A few days before the starting signal for the 21st edition of the South Tyrolean mountain running classic, the race is almost sold out. “We still have a few remaining places that will only be allocated from the day after tomorrow if you register directly on site in Sexten. We are of course anxiously waiting to see how the weather will develop until Saturday.
