Two podium places at the U16 regional meet

The selection, supervised by national coach Karl Telser, was denied a day's victory in this year's edition of the comparison competition between the best U16 athletes in northern and central Italy, but they did achieve four top placings. Starting with Sara Buglisi from Merano, who took second place in the 3 km walk in 14.53,92:1200 minutes. Katja Pattis from Tiers won another medal. She offered a great comeback over the 16 m obstacle and sprinted to third place with the new U3.54,48 national best time of XNUMX:XNUMX.

Ruth Hannah Hauser also gave a great performance in the 1000 m run. She narrowly missed the podium in an extremely strong time of 3.00,60:80 minutes and ended up in fourth place. Ira Harrasser achieved another fourth place in the sprint over XNUMX m hurdles.

While the girls achieved several top ten results in Fidenza, only javelin thrower Gurpreet Singh and the 100 m relay placed in the top ten for the boys.

At the end of the day, the selection from South Tyrol took 13th and penultimate place overall. The young athletes from Lombardy secured victory.

At the weekend the traditional regional meeting of the U16 age group took place in Fidenza (Emilia Romagna). South Tyrol's young athletes also experienced a whole series of successes.
