Two South Tyrolean podium places at the 33rd Brixia Meeting

Alessandra Realdon from Bolzano climbed to the second highest podium in the 100 m hurdles ex aequo with the German runner Katja Schwab. Both athletes finished the race with a time of 14,50 seconds and were only beaten by Slovenia's Nika Glojnaric, who won in 13,87 seconds. Meanwhile, Mario Buniolo from Brixen took an excellent third place in the 100 m in 11,03 seconds. Only the Lombard Christian Jasmie Bapou (10,77 seconds) and the German Emmanuel Stubican (10,87 seconds) were faster than the South Tyrolean. Thomas Schiffregger from Bruneck, however, narrowly missed the podium in the long jump. With a distance of 6,92 m he landed in fourth place, but was at least able to celebrate his new personal best. The German Gianni Seeger (7,19 m) secured victory. The Kalter high jumper Andreas Galler also came fourth. At 1,93 m, he missed his personal best by just one centimeter. Siger was Stefano Sottile from Piedmont with an excellent 2,17 m.

World-class performances in the women's long jump This year's Brixia Meeting also made people sit up and take notice with some world-class performances. In the women's long jump, Lisa Maihöfer (6,31 m) from Baden-Württemberg and Maja Bedrac (6,27 m) from Slovenia took second and third place on the current U18 world best list. In the high jump, Stefano Sottile from Piedmont cleared 2,17 m and set a new Brixia meeting record. Luca Dieckmann from Baden-Württemberg won the decathlon with 7037 points, while Marco Leone from Lombardy set a new U6528 Italian record with 18 points. The 18 m of shot put winner Sydney Giampietro from Lombardy also represents a new Italian U16,75 record
