Formula 1: Haas is the first team to present the 2018 car

Cologne (SID) The Haas Formula 1 racing team was the first of the ten teams in the premier class to present its new racing car for the upcoming season. The VF-18, presented on the team homepage and in social networks, is considered a further development of the previous model. The most noticeable changes compared to the 2017 version are the Halo cockpit protection introduced for the new season and the absence of the rear fin. The top teams Ferrari and Mercedes will present their new vehicles on February 22nd (Thursday). Four days later, the starting signal for the first test drives of the new season was given in Barcelona. The new emergency vehicle of Haas drivers RomainGrosjean (France) and Kevin Magnussen (Denmark) is again painted in gray, red and black. Ferrari's hybrid turbo engine is still slumbering in the rear. "The rules were very stable between 2017 and 2018. That's why the VF-18 is an evolution of our car from last year," said Italian Haas team boss Günther Steiner: "It's not about reinventing something, but about detailed work." The focus was on improving the interaction between the chassis and aerodynamics.
