The fastest at the start was the new vice world champion Valtteri Bottas in the Mercedes. The Finn turned the best lap in the run-up to the race on Sunday (14.10:1 p.m. CET) in 36,957:XNUMX minutes and relegated Max Verstappen (Netherlands) in the Red Bull to second place by more than half a second. Only behind him was world champion Lewis Hamilton (England) in the second Silver Arrow, a good six tenths behind.

The titles in the Drivers' and Teams' World Championships have already been awarded to Mercedes before the season finale, and Verstappen has the best chance of third place in the World Championship. Only Leclerc can intercept him, while Vettel can theoretically push the Monegasque from fourth place overall.
