The Scuderia had no chance not only against its actual rivals Mercedes and Red Bull, “but also against others who are actually behind us”. In order to somehow improve the weak performance that had already become apparent last weekend, Ferrari brought forward an update that was actually only planned for the upcoming race in Hungary. But this trick also fizzled out. “We worked very hard to get the updates to the car earlier than planned. But they didn’t show their value on the track,” Binotto noted disappointedly. He called for this situation to be changed - because it was “not good enough for a team called Ferrari. “We can’t freak out about it, but we can’t ignore the facts,” he clarified.
