Formula 1 in Mugello: Motorsport hearts beat faster here

Premiere I: For almost everyone, the days in Mugello will be a completely new experience. For the first time ever, Formula 1 is stopping off in Tuscany for a race this week - only because of the coronavirus pandemic. In the emergency calendar it is one of a total of three races in Italy this year. Normally Lewis Hamilton and Co. would only have raced in Monza, but now after the Grand Prix last Sunday there will also be World Championship races in Mugello and Imola.

Premiere II: It's getting (a little) fuller in the stands again. Up to 2880 fans can be at the track from Friday to Sunday. After no normal spectators were allowed into Formula 1 or tickets could be purchased during the Corona crisis this year, people are now set to celebrate again at the 1000th Ferrari Grand Prix. This is only possible through a comprehensive hygiene concept that focuses on the safety and health of everyone present.

The distance: The 14 kilometer long circuit, which is primarily well known to Ferrari drivers, offers 5,245 corners. The route belongs to the Italian automobile manufacturer, which has its headquarters around 120 kilometers away. Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc have already completed test drives in an older car this year. However, this is only likely to be an advantage to a limited extent, as their company vehicles have recently been hopelessly inferior to the competition.

The location: In the heart of Tuscany, the race track is located around 35 kilometers north of Florence in a hilly and picturesque setting. The facility has been in operation since June 1974, but the course has been modified since then. At the Motorcycle World Championship, the races at the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello are a true classic and an absolute crowd puller. The German Touring Car Masters (DTM) has also stopped here several times. On Sunday (15.10:XNUMX p.m.) a winner will be sought in the premier motorsport class for the first time.
