Formula 1 star chases burglars away

After his return from the Canadian GP, Romain Grosjean had a nasty surprise: on his first night home, two burglars broke into the Haas driver's house in Nyon (Switzerland). But the masked men did the math without the Formula 1 star. “Romain immediately confronted her to protect his family,” Grosjean’s wife Marion said on Instagram.

She also posted a picture of the patio door being broken open. “Luckily no one was injured and we were able to hide from the children what a shock it was for us,” said Marion Grosjean, who then made a very special declaration of love to her husband: “Today I can proudly say: my husband is an athlete and a hero.”

The racing driver himself described the situation on Instagram as follows: “Two men broke into our house. Luckily, they fled as soon as I entered the hallway. It’s not a good feeling, but luckily nothing happened.”

In any case, the Grosjean family has plans to avoid such shocking moments in the future. “We were actually thinking about getting a cat for the children. Now we think more of a German Shepherd,” says Marion Grosjean.
